Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines prohibited activities and usage restrictions for the Zateway platform. This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

2. Prohibited Activities

You may not use Zateway to accept payments for, facilitate, or promote any of the following:

2.1 Illegal Activities:
  • Money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Sanctions evasion or transactions involving sanctioned persons, entities, or jurisdictions
  • Fraud, phishing, identity theft, or social engineering
  • Unauthorized access to computer systems or networks
  • Distribution of malware, ransomware, or spyware
  • Any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law
2.2 Prohibited Goods & Services:
  • Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
  • Weapons, explosives, ammunition, or related accessories
  • Child exploitation material of any kind
  • Human trafficking or forced labor
  • Counterfeit goods, stolen property, or goods that infringe intellectual property rights
  • Unlicensed gambling, betting, or lottery services
  • Unregistered securities or fraudulent investment schemes (Ponzi schemes, pyramid schemes)
2.3 High-Risk Activities:
  • Cryptocurrency mixing or tumbling services
  • Privacy token exchanges designed to obscure transaction origins
  • Services whose primary purpose is circumventing financial regulations
  • Multi-level marketing (MLM) or network marketing with crypto payouts

3. Technical Misuse

You may not:
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, geo-blocks, or abuse detection systems
  • Create multiple accounts to evade account restrictions or bans
  • Use automated tools to scrape, data-mine, or reverse-engineer the Zateway API beyond its intended use
  • Submit forged, spoofed, or manipulated webhook payloads
  • Exploit smart contract vulnerabilities or deploy modified router contracts to avoid platform fees
  • Perform denial-of-service attacks against Zateway infrastructure
  • Use the sandbox/testnet environment for production transactions or vice versa

4. Restricted Regions

Zateway may not be used by individuals or entities located in, incorporated in, or operating from the following jurisdictions:
  • Cuba
  • Iran
  • North Korea (DPRK)
  • Syria
  • Russia
  • Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine
This list may be updated to reflect changes in international sanctions regimes. Access from restricted regions is blocked via IP geolocation and may be supplemented by wallet address screening.

5. Merchant Obligations

As a Merchant using Zateway, you must:
  • Accurately represent the goods or services you sell
  • Clearly disclose to your customers that they are paying in cryptocurrency and that transactions are irreversible
  • Maintain your own refund and dispute resolution policies
  • Comply with all applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction
  • Not use Zateway to accept payments for goods or services you cannot or do not intend to deliver
  • Respond to customer inquiries about payments processed through Zateway

6. Enforcement

  • Investigation: We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. During investigation, we may temporarily suspend your account and API access.
  • Suspension: Accounts found in violation may be immediately suspended without prior notice. During suspension, existing payment sessions will expire normally but new sessions cannot be created.
  • Termination: Severe or repeated violations will result in permanent account termination. Transaction records are retained as required by applicable financial regulations.
  • Reporting: We may report suspected illegal activities to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities as required or permitted by law.

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any user or merchant violating this policy, please report it to:All reports are reviewed within 48 hours. We protect the identity of reporters to the extent permitted by law.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or Dashboard notification at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
