What is a Smart Contract Router?

An on-chain contract that automatically routes payments from customer to merchant.

A smart contract router is a deployed blockchain program that receives incoming USDT/USDC transfers and automatically forwards them to the merchant's wallet, deducting the platform fee (1% for Zateway) on-chain. This is the core of non-custodial payment processing.

How Zateway's Router Works

The customer sends USDT/USDC to the router contract. The contract calculates the 1% fee, sends 99% to the merchant's wallet, and sends 1% to Zateway's fee wallet. All on-chain, all auditable, all in one transaction.

Immutable Fee Structure

For payments processed through Zateway's on-chain router contracts, the 1% fee rate is immutable — hardcoded into the contract and cannot be changed by anyone. This provides merchants with a permanent fee guarantee.
